This PhD-holding speaker has over 30 years of experience working on research, education and advocacy in emergency preparedness, planning and disaster risk reduction. She is a Member of the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) Science and Technology Advisory Group. Her work has spanned 63 countries, and she has successfully led many international projects. She is an Affiliated Professor at a leading UK University and has published over 500 peer reviewed articles, books and book chapters.
