The Focus of a Course

In addition to categorisation by subject area, NTUiTiV’s courses are also themed by their intended audience, to help delegates choose the most appropriate course for them.
We call this “the Focus” of a course, and we have 4 classifications of focus:

1. Some courses are designed for specialists in their subject area – for example a course on the details of “How to Measure Water Quality”. Such courses are called “Focus on the Specialist”.

2. Other courses are designed for managers, people who lead functions or whole organisations. An example of such a course would be the “Development of a Proactive Cybersecurity Strategy”. We call these courses “Focus on the Manager”.

3. Some NTUiTiV courses are intended to provide a broad introduction to a subject, rather than to make someone a specialist in that field. These are called “Focus on Spotlight Courses”, an example would be a course dealing with “Managing with Stress in the Workplace”.

4. And fourthly, some of NTUiTiV’s courses involve significant hands-one activities, whether it’s the use of specialist software, or extensive simulation and roll-playing activities, or even the visiting of physical facilities or the programming of embedded microprocessors. These are our “Focus on Hands-On Skills” courses, and they are another example of The NTUiTiV Difference.

The focus of a course is indicated by a series of 4 tick-boxes beneath its title on the course outline, for example:

Inevitably, some of our courses fulfil more than one Focus, so you may well find that courses have more than one Focus box ticked on their course outline.
